Introducing the Google Data Ideathon
What is an "Ideathon," you ask? Try to think of it as part hackathon, part unconference, part user group, part food, part fabulous prizes. We're opening our doors to anyone who wants to spend their Thursday night hanging out with the Google Data team. We'd love to meet local developers, whether you've worked with one of the Google Data APIs in the past, or if you just want to learn more about it.
Besides a short kick-off session, everything else will be up to you. We'll provide the wi-fi, power and food, and you can utilize the time however you want -- whether it's to pick the brain of someone on the Google Data team, meet other local developers, hack away on your current project, sit in on impromptu sessions about things like Google Data + Gears and GME, or hold your own lightning talk about the project you're working on.
Location & Time
The Ideathon takes place on Thursday, December 13th, from 5:00pm to 10:30pm and is located in the Mountain View Googleplex: Benghazi Tech Talk, Building 43, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 You can also check this page for detailed travel information.
Not in the Bay Area? This is just the first of such events, so we'll try some more exotic locales in the future :) If you're interested in having one in your area (or even hosting one!), let us know at gdata-events@google.com.

I'm in! What can I do to get ready?
Once you're registed, check out the Google Data Ideathon Google Group for information about the Ideathon. It's a great way to meet other people who will be attending, and the best place to go if you've got any further questions.
If you haven't already done so, why not check out some of the great Google Data resources available on code.google.com? There's a bunch of great articles that will help you get up to speed with many of the Google Data APIs. You can also check out the Google Data Blog to get an idea of what the team has been up to lately.
We're looking forward to seeing you at the Googleplex!
