Google Search Appliance virtual edition is a developer platform designed for the enterprise development community to build and test applications that use the Google Search Appliance. Developers can simply download the software-only product, try out the new features and explore the various programmatic interfaces supported by the Google Search Appliance.

Terms of Use

The Google Search Appliance virtual edition is targeted for development and trial use, and not for production use. To that end:

• This is a software download
• Legally only for development use - not for production use
• The number of documents crawled and indexed is limited to 50,000
• Developers can test against the features of the Google Search Appliance

System Requirements

The following system resources are required:

• Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 2.80 Ghz with HT or equivalent
• 3 GB of RAM
• 40 GB of free space on hard disk
• Ethernet connection

The following system resources are recommended:

• Intel Pentium D processor 915 (dual core) or equivalent
• 4 GB of RAM
• 40 GB of free space on a 7200 RPM or faster hard disk
• Serial ATA storage interface or better
• Ethernet connection
