Overview
The YouTube API is available to anyone wishing to use this tool to syndicate YouTube on their own site. No pre-approval is needed to use the YouTube API. Use of the Powered by YouTube badge is also available upon API download. YouTube API users may only use the "Powered by YouTube" badge and no other YouTube logo.
No pre-approval is required to use the YouTube API as well as the Powered by YouTube badge to promote the YouTube API on their site. However, as noted above, use of the badge is governed by the API Terms of Service.
When creating a feature or product utilizing the YouTube API, the name of the feature or product cannot use YouTube in the name of the software or feature. If for marketing or other strategic reasons it would valuable to have YouTube referenced, it may be permissible for the developer to use the phrase for YouTube (e.g. Video Box for YouTube, but never YouTube Video Box), however this should be the exception and not the rule. You may not state or otherwise imply any affiliation with YouTube.
Attribution
When integrating the API into your website, you should feature the Powered by YouTube badge on any web page where the YouTube API has a presence and next to where the implementation appears in the page UI.
Powered By YouTube badges are available for download & use (right-click and download). All Powered by YouTube badges on web pages must be clickable and link back to http://www.youtube.com.
