Orkut Support Resources
Developer Forums
The forums are a great place to get help when you've got a question. To get the most out of this group, please do the following before you post:
- Type in keywords of your question in the Orkut developer site's search bar (such as the one above). This search encompasses all previous discussions, across all groups, as well as the full contents of the site, documentation, and blogs. Chances are good that somebody has run into the same issue before.
- Be very clear about your question in the subject -- it helps everyone, both those trying to answer your question as well as those who may be looking for information in the future.
- Give plenty of details in your post to help others understand your problem. Including source code or a link to your application XML file goes a long way in describing your problem or reproducing an issue. Screenshots may also be helpful. IRC
Chat with developers in real time in the OpenSocial IRC room. Developers in this room are writing apps for many different containers, and some are implementing containers themselves! Sign on at irc://irc.freenode.net/opensocial and join the conversation.
opensocial-resources
The opensocial-resources site is an open source project that uses Google Project Hosting to maintain a collection of sample apps, code snippets, and compliance tests for OpenSocial. In addition to the code used in tutorials and articles, you'll also find these resources:
- Issue Tracker - Check out the current list of known issues, or file your own feature requests. Note that if you "star" an issue you'll receive status updates and help the Orkut team prioritize what bugs to fix and features to add.
- Wiki - The bleeding edge of OpenSocial documentation! When we need to share some code snippets fast, but don't have time to write up a polished article, we usually post something in the wiki. You'll often see people referencing pages here in the developer forums.
